Chapter 13 – Oh No, It’s Still Too Early!
I cut down the tree, still angry.
This is because I felt that the balance was off, as only the front, which was originally open, and the back of the house were wide.
Right now I’m trying to expand the west side of the house a little.
Well, just a little for now.
Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the same fairy flying towards me.
It seemed that she had brought some companions, as they flew in with about ten of them.
Damn it…
You thought that the proud daughter of Fenrir would be intimidated by that number!
I turned the white Fluffy that I had been using as a Japanese sword into a giant bug net.
I’ll catch them and teach them a lesson!
Swinging the white bug net wildly, I headed towards them calmly.
However, the fairy that came out in front of me was not the usual prince-type fairy, but a fairy who looked like a noble princess.
She had long, lustrous green hair and pale skin, a simple yellow-green dress and long, slender legs, and her wings were beautiful, with a white pattern on a golden background.
Her body was smaller than the nobleman, but her wings were a size larger than his.
This noble and adorable fairy princess bowed repeatedly to me.
Then, while saying something, she looked up at me with apologetic eyes, her big, bright eyes moist.
Cute.
I forgive you!
I put away my butterfly net for the time being and got into a position to listen.
The fairy princess was gesturing and trying her best to communicate something.
…
…
As expected, I couldn’t understand what she was saying.
I folded my arms, furrowed my brows, and tilted my head, as the fairy princess pointed towards the rose.
As I followed her, the fairy princess spun around on the roses, pleading with me earnestly.
…Does that mean we all want to live here?
Well, it’s small and the fairy princess is cute, so it’s fine.
When I nodded, the fairy princess’s expression brightened up.
Cute!
If they sold it as a figurine in my past life, I would definitely buy it!
As I was feeling happy like that, the noble fairy came up to me and said something arrogant.
I wonder if a noble fairy is…important?
And maybe the fairy princess is even more special than that.
There were eight fairies flying around to protect the fairy princess, and they(? ) were dressed in a navy blue version of the jackets of British royal knights? soldiers?
They were also wearing the same fluffy black hats on their heads.
So it’s natural to think of the Fairy Princess and the Noble Fairy — no, since this one looks bad, I’ll call him the Villain Fairy — as special cases, and the rest as bodyguards.
…Well, that’s nothing to do with me.
I quickly made a bug net made of white Fluffy, put it over the cheeky villain fairy, and dropped it to the ground.
It was struggling for some reason, but the white Fluffy was tangled in the net and couldn’t escape.
The Fairy Princess was apologizing fervently for some reason, but I didn’t notice.
I gave her a cold glance and went back to cutting down trees.
—
“Well,” I said, rolling up my sleeves.
I continued expanding my territory.
By the way, I had no choice but to release the cheeky villain fairy after the fairy princesses’ earnest pleas.
It would be a shame to have an arm’s worth of white Fluffy taken away for some idiot.
They were screaming something, but when I put out my bug net again, they ran away.
Really.
They were now circling the roses and examining the roots.
I didn’t know what they were doing, but I didn’t hear what they were saying, so I left them alone.
…
…
…Phew.
I cut down five trees on the east and west, and expanded my territory accordingly.
It’s spread to the north and south, but I think it’s balanced overall to some extent.
I called it good for now.
Or rather, I don’t want to cut down any more trees…
I turned my gaze to the west side of the house, and saw a mountain of unused wood.
…There were just more logs to go to waste.
…
If this were a grown man, he’d probably use it for a warehouse or expand the house, or something.
But in my past life, I was probably just a middle school girl — that’s impossible.
Should I take it to town and get it processed?
But there’s that gatekeeper…
But I think I’ll have to go to town someday…
But but but…
Ah, stop!
Let’s do something else!
Oh, come to think of it, there are wild grapes.
Let’s grow more of them, let’s do that!
I’ll bring the wild grape seeds I took out from the house last night.
I think I’ll put them in front of the house, slightly to the east.
After digging up some of them, I’ll bury a few seeds, leaving some space between them.
Oh, that’s right, wild grapes are vines, so I needed some splints.
I trimmed some of the branches that were left over from the felling with the white Fluffy knife version and stuck them in the ground.
I stuck them in quite deep so they wouldn’t fall over, but they’ll probably fall over if the wind blows.
Oh, maybe if I stick them in on all four sides and connect them together, they won’t fall over as easily.
The problem is… I don’t have any string to tie it with.
Maybe I should go find some vines in the forest…
Well, this will do for now.
I cover the top of the simple wild grape field I made with white Fluffy.
“Let it grow!”
The buds sprout. They will soon become vines.
I hang them on the splints.
Oh, they’re already ripe.
To be honest, they’ll ripen so quickly that I might not even need splints.
While thinking this, I harvest the plump purple berries.
At the moment, I don’t have a bag or basket, so I pick up the skirt with my left hand and carry it on top of it.
Oh, I wonder if I can make a basket out of wild grape vines or something?
I’ll try that later.
I go inside the house and carefully place it on the table in the living room so it doesn’t roll off.
Then I pick up one and eat it.
…It’s sour.
It’s slightly sweet, but…I’d like to make jam or something.
But I don’t have any sugar.
Hmm.
Thinking like this, I went outside, and for some reason the fairy princesses, who had moved above the wild grape fields, stared at me.
?
Eh, what?
The fairy princesses were frantically giving instructions to the royal guard fairy soldiers, and some of them ran out of the barrier country at great speed.
What was it?
I was a little curious, but I couldn’t ask them since I couldn’t speak the same language anyway.
For now, I’ll carry all the wild grapes home.
After making three trips and collecting the vines, the fairy princesses came flying over.
Then, they pulled out the sleeves of their Sherry clothes.
Huh?
What?
Does she want me to follow her?
The fairy princess took me to an open space behind the house.
There was something stick-like stuck in the center of the vacant lot I had flattened.
More like a stick, but more like a branch?
It was a little surreal to see it stuck in the middle of such a bare space.
Huh?
What’s wrong?
The fairy princess was trying very hard to tell me something.
Huh?
Are you going to grow it?
You mean a cutting?
…Well, that’s okay.
I put the white Fluffy on the branch.
“Grow it!”
Then it started to grow.
It started to grow.
It’s growing and growing…but isn’t it growing too much!?
As I panicked and jumped back, the fairy princesses attached themselves to the tree.
Huh? What?
It was glowing for some reason!
Kyaa!?
It was so bright that I closed my eyes.
After a while, I opened my eyes timidly, and saw a terrifyingly large tree standing there.
You’ve got to be kidding me!?
It was obviously big enough to fit my house inside.
It was as tall as a ten-story building.
Its branches and leaves were spreading out so wide that it completely covered my house.
Hey, what’s this!?
Is there a hole in the middle of the tree? Is that what it’s called?
Anyway, there was a big hole, and the fairy princesses went inside.
Curious, I took out a white Fluffy from my hand and threw it like a string onto a branch near the hole.
Knowing that it will get caught, I grab the branch and shorten the white Fluffy.
Then, my body rises up.
When I reach the branch, I put my foot on it and jump.
I landed in the tree hole.
There was a large hollow.
It was empty, but there was something sparkling in the back, and the fairy princesses were standing around it.
What are they doing?
When I got closer, the fairy princess was chanting what sounded like a spell.
Then, she thrust her hand forward and shouted something.
Then, the tree began to rise up as if surrounding the fairy princess.
In front of me, I froze with my eyes wide open, as the tree undulated and gradually changed into a palace-like shape.
It started to change even at my feet, so I hurriedly moved away, and before I knew it, a wooden European-style temple had been created.
It’s made of wood, so you can see the grain, and it’s small so it has a miniature feel, but it was more impressive than I’d imagined.
As I gazed on it in fear, the fairy princess came out of the temple with a big smile on her face and clung to my face.
Then, she rubbed her cheek happily.
Yeah, I don’t really get it, but I’m glad…
