Chapter 8 – Humans are Horrible!
After looking around, I went back to the living room and sat down in a chair.
It was bigger than I thought.
There were four rooms on either side of the living room, and a kitchen, toilet, and bathroom at the back.
Inside the room, at the back right from the entrance, there was a teleportation circle used when sending prey to Mama.
Mama had told me how to do it before.
…
I stood in the center of the teleportation circle and chanted [Transport!].
…I couldn’t return.
I was sad.
The room on the front left from the entrance was the bedroom.
There was a bed and a small table, as well as a wardrobe and closet.
When I opened it, the clothes that were supposed to be in the cave house were carefully arranged.
When on earth had this happened!?
What’s more, new clothes had been added!
Next to the closet was the same full-body mirror that I had used in the cave – a full-length mirror.
I’m so happy!
And a bed!
This is my first bed in this world.
Basically, I slept clinging to my mommy or my brothers.
It was big, right?
It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, so I’m not sure, but maybe it’s about a semi-double?
It was big enough that about four girls my age could sleep in it if they tried.
And what made me happiest was that the duvet cover was stuffed with my mommy’s hair!
It smelled like mommy!
It was so fluffy because it was stuffed with so much.
I was so happy that I stuck my head in between the comforter and the mattress.
It felt like I was wrapped up in my mommy, I was so happy~
…And even though it had only been an hour since we parted ways, I started to miss her so much when I thought about not seeing her for a while.
Mommy~
The rooms on the front right and in the back left looked like warehouses, and there were many wooden boxes big enough for me to hold in my arms.
When I opened it, it was filled with rock salt and jars of soap and conditioner that the elf had made for me based on my ideas.
I was grateful.
I was grateful, but…
I wish she’d also put in some pepper, sugar beet, melon seeds, etc.!
Then I could use the plant-growing magic that Mama taught me!
Ah, I wanted pepper, sugar beets, and sugar beets, not to mention the melon.
Well, I guess you’re not going to need those things to survive, but…
I’m glad there’s a toilet!
And it’s one that decomposes with slime, a familiar sight in web novels!
In fact, the cave I lived in had one of these too.
Fenrir said I could defecate somewhere in the forest, but when I earnestly pleaded for hygiene, the elf made one for me.
And it even came with slime.
It was a simple setup, you just dig a hole, put the slime in, and put a toilet seat (western style) on top of it, but just that gave me a strange sense of security.
Maybe because my moms saw me like that, they also started to defecate in the hole with the slime.
We also started letting the slime dispose of leftover food, so the smell around the cave has decreased.
And the bath!
It seemed like she remembered what I had told mom before, and there was a nice bath made of marble (or something like that?) that was near the cave!
It even had a hole to drain the hot water outside, and it looked really convenient.
However, there was something that looked like a faucet for hot water or something, but I didn’t really know how to use it.
I’ll ask the elf when she comes.
There was a door to the left of the fireplace, and beyond that was the kitchen.
What’s more, there’s a stove!
Looks like we could make bread with this!
…Well, if we had the white Fluffy, we wouldn’t really need a stove.
I’ve made bread with the white Fluffy before.
Well, maybe we could use it for something? That’s what I thought.
There was a door at the back, and when I opened it, I found a firewood storage area, and there was another one further ahead, so when I opened it, it seemed like I was at the back of the house, and I could see lush trees.
There was plenty of wood, so it looked like we’d have no trouble getting firewood.
We could make a fire with the white Fluffy, but we couldn’t leave it out all the time to stay warm, so in that sense it was a relief.
Looking at the whole thing again, I can see that a lot of thought went into it.
It must have taken a lot of time and effort to gather all these things, and a fair amount of money, right?
Although, I’ve heard that Fenrir’s mother’s shed hair and replacement claws and fangs sell for a fair amount among humans, so it’s possible that she created them that way.
…
I guess I’ll have to go and occupy a human town after all.
Leaning back in my chair, I think.
I’ve been taught how to fight, at least.
I’m weak, but I have defeated dragons before.
But, I wonder if I could occupy a town by myself.
I don’t think normal humans are stronger than dragons.
But maybe there are knights or adventurers who can easily defeat them.
At least, there were plenty of them in web novels.
So it’s not strange that I’d end up in this other world.
…
Letting out a sigh, I stood up.
It might be impossible.
Well, it’s probably 99% impossible.
But it would be no good to do nothing after all that has been prepared for me.
I’ll put all that attacking aside for now and just go and take a look.
I might be able to find a good excuse.
Hmm, that’s kind of exciting!
I haven’t been to a human town since I went to live with my mother as a baby.
In fact, I’ve never even met a human.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the humans in this other world are like!
I pick up a key from the table.
Then I walk towards the exit.
Oh, wait a minute.
I go into the bedroom and stand in front of the mirror.
A girl with long white hair in braids stands there wearing Sherry clothes, a Fenrir hat with ears (white), and a belt (with a white tail).
…
I let my braided hair flow forward from my shoulders.
…
If I had to say, I think I’m cute after being reincarnated in another world.
But I didn’t really mind it when I was surrounded by the Fenrir family, but doesn’t this outfit stand out a bit in this other world?
…I’m twelve, so maybe it’s still okay?
I guess it’s not okay after all?
…
I try posing with a “gao~” sound.
Bright eyes and a beautiful face – she’s still cute.
My outfit looks a little strange, but…
Well, I guess it’s okay?
—
After passing through the forest and crossing the rolling grasslands, I arrived at the town.
Looking up close, the wall surrounding the town was so high I had to look up.
Amazing!
I could see about thirty people lined up in front of the arched entrance, waiting to enter.
Their outfit was…well, medieval European, like the common people of Naurope.
Will they be surprised to see me in a modern Sherry costume?
Thinking this, I approach.
…They look a little suspicious, but they don’t make a fuss.
That’s good~
As I’m thinking this, a boy of about five years old at the end of the line points in my direction. “Hey, that girl has dog-like ears!”
A person carrying a large basket who looks like the boy’s mother says in surprise, “Oh really.”
Well, I guess it would be surprising if someone had Fenrir ears.
I lined up behind the boys and took off my hat.
“These ears are fake.”
“Wow, that’s right!”
The boy’s eyes widen.
The boy’s mother also says, “It’s really intricate.”
“My sister made it for me.”
Of course, it wasn’t her big sister, but the elf sister.
“Your sister is amazing.”
The boy’s mother looked at the hat with admiration.
To be precise, the elf sister collected her mother’s fur and had it made in a craftsman-like way, but oh well.
The boy’s mother looked at me strangely.
“You’re dressed like I don’t see people around here, are you a foreigner?”
“No, you lived deep in that forest.”
“What!?
But there are monsters, right!?”
“Yeah, but your mom and brothers are strong.
And even though I look like this, I can fight, too.”
“Well, I guess so.”
The boy’s mother looked at me with wide eyes.
The boy was impressed and said, “That’s amazing.”
I was a little happy.
When I told her that it was my first time in town, the boy’s mother frowned worriedly.
“Well, maybe you don’t have a pass or something?
If you do that, it will cost money…”
“Oh!
I see!”
That’s right!
It’s a standard in otherworldly web novels, but I had completely forgotten about it.
“What should I do?
I don’t have any money.”
What do you do in web novels at times like this?
Hmm, I was thinking with my arms folded when I heard a husky man’s voice say “Hey.”
When I turned my eyes towards him, I couldn’t help but let out a “Hya!”
A soldier with a really bad look approached me.
He had a large, muscular body and light golden hair slicked back.
His pale skin was covered with many sharp old scars, his eyebrows were thin, and his pale blue eyes, visible deep in his hollows, were narrow and sharp.
He looked a bit like a crime boss from a movie I saw in my previous life.
It’s so scary!
The boy is also shocked and hides in his mother’s shadow.
The boy’s mother seems to be a big shot, she laughs and says “Oh my!”
Amazing!
The boss (not his real name) stands in front of me and gives a bitter smile.
“I’m the gatekeeper.”
“Monban?”
What’s Monban again?
A nickname for assassins?
Oh no, the gatekeeper!
I was so scared that I started thinking strange things.
The gatekeeper, now known as the boss, says.
“I hear you don’t have a permit or money.”
“O-okay.”
The gatekeeper sighs.
Then he beckons me, “Come on over.”
“Hyaaaah!”
I couldn’t help but raise my voice and run towards the forest.
“Hey!”
I thought I heard a voice say that, but I ignored it.
“Help meeeeeee!”
I ran as fast as I could.
I ran across the grassland, cut through the forest, and dashed into the house.
I tried to open the second door, but it wouldn’t open!
The key!
With trembling hands I inserted it into the keyhole and turned it!
Once inside, I immediately locked the door and dashed into the room.
Then I plunged headfirst into the bed.
It’s scary, Mamaaaaa!
It’s that!
It’s definitely what will happen if I’m taken away!
I’ll be subjected to a horrible experience!
And then, in the end, my feet will be set in concrete and I’ll be sunk in the sea!
Humans are scary!
It’s so scary!
